The app checks when each photo was taken. When a photo reaches the age you set (3 days for general photos), you get a reminder to review it. Swipe right to keep the photo, and you won't be reminded about it again. Swipe left to delete it.

A pattern gives certain kinds of photos their own reminder time, for example bank transfer slips after 7 days.

1. Open the Patterns tab and tap +.
2. Set a name and the number of days, then add sample photos, such as slips from each bank you use.
3. Tap "Test on my photos" to check the matches. If unrelated photos show up, raise the Strictness. If some are missed, lower it or add more samples.

The first time, the app has to analyze your whole library, which can take a few minutes if you have many photos.

iOS requires every app to ask before deleting photos. PhotoReminder groups the photos you select and deletes them in one go, so iOS asks only once.

Yes. Deleted photos stay in Photos > Albums > Recently Deleted for 30 days. Before anything is deleted, tap "Review" to see the photos you swiped left, then delete or restore them one at a time or all at once.

In the Patterns tab, tap "General photos" and turn off Notifications. You can turn off notifications for each pattern separately too. You can still review groups with notifications off from the Review tab.

• Allow notifications in Settings > Notifications > PhotoReminder.
• Turn on Settings > General > Background App Refresh so new photos can be checked.
• Low Power Mode and Focus can delay or hide notifications.
• New photos are checked when iOS lets the app run in the background. Opening the app now and then keeps reminders on time.

• If you gave limited access, switch to full access in Settings > PhotoReminder > Photos.
• Favorites are excluded by default. You can change this in the app under Settings > Default.
• Photos you chose to keep are hidden. You can reset the list in the app under Settings > Data.

You can review your first 10 photos without subscribing. After that, you need a subscription to continue. Your first 7 days are free, and then your chosen plan renews automatically. To avoid being charged, cancel at least 24 hours before the 7 days end.

Go to Settings > [your name] > Subscriptions > PhotoReminder, or in the app go to Settings > Manage Subscription. Cancelling takes effect at the end of the current billing period.

Sign in with the same Apple Account, then tap "Restore Purchases" on the subscription screen or in Settings. Your subscription and any Pattern packs you bought will come back. Your patterns and settings are stored on the device, so they move to a new device through an iCloud or computer backup.
